The majority of people who have been assaulted were minors when the assault occurred. As such, it&#8217;s crucial to offer these types of activities in the region&#8217;s schools and organizations.<\/p>\n\t<h2>The Empreinte program: taking action together against sexual assault<\/h2>\n<p>Developed by the Regroupement qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois des CALACS and professors from the sexology department at Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, the Empreinte program, focused on taking action together against sexual violence addresses students in high school (Secondary 2, 3 and 4), their parents, and teachers and non-teaching school staff.<\/p>\n<p>The program was assessed across Qu\u00e9bec in 2017-2018 and is in keeping with the sex education curriculum established by the Minist\u00e8re de l&#8217;\u00c9ducation et de l&#8217;Enseignement sup\u00e9rieur.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The program&#8217;s general objective is to reduce social tolerance for sexual violence in school and family settings.<\/p>\n<p>The workshops provided for young people aim to help them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand the issue of sexual violence and the notion of consent;<\/li>\n<li>Take action against sexual violence and its impacts;<\/li>\n<li>Develop their critical thinking skills in regard to hypersexualization;<\/li>\n<li>Understand sexual exploitation and its consequences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The topics addressed are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sexual violence: definition, prevalence, myths and prejudices;<\/li>\n<li>Sexual consent;<\/li>\n<li>Disclosure and support;<\/li>\n<li>Power of youth to act against sexual violence;<\/li>\n<li>Culture of hypersexualization and gender stereotypes;<\/li>\n<li>Sexual exploitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Workshops intended for school staff aim to provide them with an overall understanding of sexual violence among young people so they can help prevent this violence and intervene appropriately with youth.<\/p>\n<p>Videos intended for parents aim to raise their awareness of the issue of sexual violence and equip them to address these topics with their children.<\/p>\n<p>For any requests related to the Empreinte program, schools should contact <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/calacslancrage.ca\/en\/contact-us\/\">CALACS L&#8217;Ancrage<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the program, click <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/calacslancrage.ca\/en\/\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t<h2>Group awareness-raising<\/h2>\n<p>The awareness-raising workshops are intended for various settings: schools (adults, C\u00c9GEP, university), community groups, police, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of these information sessions are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote egalitarian relationships between men and women;<\/li>\n<li>Teach the notion of sexual consent, and the reality of sexual violence and sexual exploitation;<\/li>\n<li>Break down myths and prejudices related to sexual violence;<\/li>\n<li>Take action against sexual violence and its impacts;<\/li>\n<li>Reduce social tolerance for sexual violence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To request an awareness-raising session, contact <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/calacslancrage.ca\/en\/contact-us\/\">CALACS L&#8217;Ancrage<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t<h2>Training<\/h2>\n<p>CALACS L&#8217;Ancrage offers training to people working in various settings in the region: community, psychosocial, school, medical and legal.
